パーティーへの招待状!
This Frozen party of the century just took place last Saturday and we are happy that it's all done with but at the same time kind of sad that it's over... Because we killed it!!!
先週クライン家で長女の５才の誕生日を祝う、フローズンパーティーをしました...無事終わって良かったけど、終わってしまうと少し寂しいですね、やっぱり：）

We went the handmade decoration route thanks to pinterest and although it took a lot of preparation it was totally worth it:-)

Right after we were done watching Frozen the first time on Black Friday the theme for Madison's 5th birthday party was decided and sometime in March the plan was set in motion... First the invitation and thank you cards designed by me were ordered. Second I started to make white ice chains for decoration. Then later in March we used Oriental Tradings Store for the first time to order a bunch of snowflake stuff and party favors which worked out just perfect... We also got our hands on actual Frozen plates and Balloons from Party City online so that was just super:-) This year Madison was very involved in her party planning for the first time and was very helpful in getting ready:-)
去年フローズンの映画を見たあの日から、マディソンの５才の誕生日パーティーのテーマが決まり、３月に招待状をデザインして注文した後いろいろと忙しくなりました。今年初めていろいろとパーティーの計画に参加したマディソン、ちゃんと準備の手伝いもしてくれて大助かりでした。
We stenciled the guest tables with beautiful snowflakes and Madison happily helped us:-)

After Madison and I got home from picking up Madison's base cake from Costco we were introduced to Dave's Olaf... Very cute:-)
マディソンとケーキを取りに行っている間にデイブの手によって作られたオラフ...とってもカワイイでしょ：）
The beautiful cotton ball snow was created by Dave, surprise!
綿を使って作った雪はデイブ作、凄いでしょ!
The BIG Day!
待ちに待ったパーティー当日！
Right after Violet went down for her morning nap we put our energy into full gear to finish up everything and at 11 O'clock it was time!
バイオレットの午前中のお昼寝の開始と共に私達３人は準備の仕上げを全速力でしました。そして、１１時にはあっという間に！
We welcomed our guests with giant bubbles... We looked up the giant bubble recipe online and it worked pretty good during our practice run but it wasn't as successful as we hoped to be due to high winds... BUT we had other things planned so we just moved onto the next thing... Once most of the guests arrived we started with a relay game using frozen ice balls...
お客さんを迎えたのはジャイアントシャボン玉... 割れにくいジャイアントシャボン玉の作り方を調べて、練習中はうまくいったんだけど当日の強風のため思ったように成功しなかったけど、他に用意したゲームに移りました...

It was a bit confusing for the littler ones but the guests enjoyed passing the cold ice balls and racing to win:-)
ちょっとルールが難しかったけど、冷たい氷のボールを使ってするゲームは楽しいね：）
The Snowball Fight: Dave found these fake snowballs that have the texture and feel of real snowballs. This is as real as it gets in Sunny California folks! And surprisingly it was a lot of fun and kids were so into it more than we had hoped:-)
次に挑戦したゲームは雪合戦：もちろん南カリフォルニアには雪が無いので、偽物のでも本物のような感触のある雪玉を使いました。これはみんな本気で力一杯投げて楽しそうでした：）良かった、良かった：）
Then it was time to go inside the Ice Palace to do some artsy stuff...
Making Ice Art using hot water and epsom salt...
そして、雪合戦の後は氷のお城に入ってアートの時間...
Letting them dry in the sun while we build snowmen...:-)
オラフを作っている間、太陽の下で乾燥させました...：）
Probably could have used more epsom salt in the mixture for more dramatic result...
Should have measured David Klein!
もう少しエプソム塩入れた方がちゃんと絵が出たはずなんだけど...
デイビットクライン、今度はちゃんと分量計るように!

急にたくさんの仲間が出来て、満足そうなオラフ！
So I forgot to give mini marshmallows to one table and that's why some Olafs are taking naps but aren't they all so adorable!?
４っつのテーブルの内、１つに足用のミニマシュマロをあげるのすっかり忘れてしまって、その結果がお昼寝中の雪だるま。まっ、可愛いからいっかー：）

Snowman String Cheese, Jello Fit For The Queen, Olaf's Nose, Anna's Warm Your Heart Pizza Streusel, Elsa's Frozen Heart, Melted Snow and Anna's Frozen Chocolate
雪だるまのチーズ、エルサ女王にピッタリのゼリー、オラフの鼻(人参)、アナのあったかハートのピザロール、エルサの凍ったハート(スイカ)、溶けた雪(水)、とアナのフローズンチョコレート
This happens every year and we don't know how this happens but we just can't seem to remember to take pictures of our food table... Grrr!
毎年繰り返し起こってイラ着くのが、パーティーメニューの写真を撮るのをすっかり忘れてしまう事です... それがまた起こりました。
Sigh, only good thing is that our party guests enjoyed them...

I created a Snowflake path leading the guests to our house using Spray Glue, Cardboard Snowflake Stencils and Frozen Colored Glitters... Turned out beautiful and seems like they are here to stay for semi-permanent...:-)
玄関まで続くコンクリートの道にステンシルを通して糊を付け、その上からグリッターをかけて作り上げた結晶の道です... 当分取れそうにないけど、気に入っているから大丈夫。

And finally the birthday cake time!!
I tried making sugar sculptures for the first time since I thought this will be the best way to recreate Elsa's Ice Palace... We got a blank cake from Costco and I got busy:-)
そして、バースデーケーキの出番!!
エルサの氷のお城をどう再現しようかいろいろ考えた結果、飴を使って何かオブジェを作れば良いかなと、初めて挑戦しました。ケーキは勿論コストコの美味しいケーキ：）
Yeah I'm not really proud of my letter piping skills... It will improve hopefully over time:-)
字を書くのはヘタだけど、だんだん上達するでしょう：）
This was an accidental-amazing sugar sculpture of Elsa in her flowing dress...:-) I really can't take the credit since I didn't know what I was doing...except for having lots of fun
これは本当に偶然とっても綺麗に出来たエルサが綺麗なドレスを着ているオブジェ...：）ちゃんと出来るか心配だったけど、飴細工結構楽しかったです。
By the time we were ready to eat the cake my beautiful ice palace was curling over with heat... So glad I at least took pictures of it early:-)
デザートの時間までに私の自慢の氷の城は暑さのせいで曲がってしまいました。でもこれだけはちゃんと写真を撮って置いて良かったー：）
After gift opening some guests left and the rest of us got comfy in front of our TV for FROZEN!
プレゼントを開けて無事誕生日パーティーを終えた後、フローズンの上映始まり、始まりです!
Well Madison had a blast and was so happy to see all her buddies come celebrate her 5th birthday with her so that's all that mattered... Right before bed she came out and said, "I LOVED the Frozen party! Thank you so very much"... WE JUST MELTED!
マディソンは５才の誕生日をたくさんのお友達と一緒にお祝いして貰ってとっても嬉しそうでした。 やっぱりそんな顔を見ちゃうと疲れも吹っ飛んじゃいました...そしてその日の夜ベッドに行く前にマディソンがトコトコと歩いて来て、“私のフローズンパーティーとっても楽しかった！本当にありがとう！”って... 私達溶けちゃいました！
