Madison's 6th Mermaid Pirate Birthday Party!!

I would like to say without bragging Madison's 6th Birthday turned out to be our best work so far and pretty legendary...!! And that's because it was a very fun party but also because I totally forgot to take pictures!!!:-( Very big mistake I know but we were so busy setting up right up to the start time and I totally forgot to start taking pictures once things were under control... Really important to designate someone or a parent of a guest to go crazy taking pictures... and this way you get to enjoy the party a little more... So in this post a lot of reading and very few pictures to share with you but hope you get the idea...:-)

Madison's 6th Birthday Party theme was Mermaids and Pirates and it was going to be the biggest by far since the school friends and Church friends were invited...

We prepared a menu fit for Mermaids and Pirates:-) And they came out soooo good so I'm very sad we didn't take a single picture of the food...:-( The Mermaids enjoyed some Shell Pasta Salad, Under the Sea Jello, Star Fish Sandwich(Nutella), Sushi Sandwich, and Sea Water and the Pirates enjoyed some Berried Skewer, Pirate Bootie, Cannon Balls, and Fish & Chips...:-)

When the guests arrived each one got this letter and a treasure map below and off they went on their journey...  For the Mermaids I made one of a kind lace Tiaras, it wasn't super easy but they turned out great! Thanks Pinterest:-)
Psst! In case you are wondering, yes the island is our house...:-)

And the rest of games went like these...

We have asked Madison's favorite couple Brian & Afton(remember she was in their wedding?) to be a Mermaid and a Pirate so I made their costumes and they welcomed the guests at the Mermaid Lagoon... Wow they did an awesome job! I guess one of the games was a little tough so it took a while for them to get to the lagoon but they patiently stayed in their character and were just wonderful to all the guests:-)

A BIG catch! We caught a pretty Mermaid girl!!

I made the mermaid fins for Madison and Afton using swim suit material so they are totally okay to swim in and Madison was able to really swim like a Mermaid... BUT my surger is still in CT so my regular zig zag stitching didn't hold the seam too long but it was cool while it lasted and I can't wait to get my surger back to sew up those seams perfectly soon!

We ordered a plain cake from Costco as usual and I decorated it... In case you are wondering the beach sand is crushed graham cracker... Very happy with how it came out:-)

Mermaid Madison and Pirate Lincoln, what a cute couple;-)
We had a great time and Madison couldn't stop talking about it for a long time and we are pretty sure she will remember this one for a long time. Happy Birthday Madison and although we don't want you to grow up so fast at least you are growing up with so many of wonderful friends so we can't be happier and prouder of who you are becoming:-) We love you!!
