Jiiji(G-pa) and Baaba(G-ma) Time!!!!!!! Part2/じいじとばあばが来たーの巻!!!!!! パート２

Tuesday of week 2 we took Jiiji and Baaba to where we used to live... Josh the doorman was still there and remembered us so we got to give them a tour of the 2nd floor. We picked up some yummy donuts on the way over so we took our blanket and had our breakfast on the beach which was fun...:-) After the breakfast we headed to Huntington Beach to show cool waves and surfers and to get some beach time in which they never get to do since Nagano is surrounded by a bunch of mountains... The waves were pretty strong so even Dave didn't go in and we built a sand castle/fort and created a wading pool for Madison to kick water in...:-)
２週間目の火曜日は、まず私達が前に住んでいたマンションをじいじとばあばに紹介する事にしました。マンションの裏庭の砂浜で買って来たとってもおいしいドーナツを食べた後、ハンティントンビーチというサーフで有名なビーチへ遊びに行く事にしました。

ハンティントンビーチの少し前にある犬を連れて来れるドッグビーチです。波は強過ぎて結局誰も入らなかったけど、マディソンは十分砂浜で楽しそうに遊んでいました：）

For lunch we went back to Seal Beach to Crab Shack... We could probably took them to more authentic seafood restaurant but we thought they would have a nice lunch menu which they didn't so we probably will never return again... We shared a Crab Nacho for appetizer:-)

海で遊んだ後お昼を食べに行ったのは、クラブシャックと言うシーフードのレストラン。今私達が食べているのは蟹のナチョス：）

One of the days they were here we got 4 egg plants and a green pepper! We enjoyed the egg plants but...

この日はこんなに茄子が採れました！ピーマンはマディソンにこの後すぐ食べられました

On Wednesday Dave and Jiiji built a sand box for Madison! Yay! They also created a seating area... Madison absolutely loves it and the next day I believe she played all day in it! I must have talked about this in our previous post but they also built a Strawberry box in the front. My Dad is also handy around the house so you know what happens to those handy people right? We totally take advantage of them! Thank you Dad:-)

水曜日、じいじとデイブはマディソンの砂場を作りました。入れ物も全部手作り：）ちゃんと横に座る所もあるんです！　マディソンは大喜びで、楽しそうに毎日遊んでいるよ：）その他にデイブとじいじが作った物と言えば、イチゴの箱。写真が見つからないので、ちょっとお待ちください：）その他、ヒマワリを植え直したり、家の周りの事をして貰いました：）ありがとう〜！

On Saturday morning we went to a local nursery to pick out a tree to celebrate our new house... 

土曜日の朝、家族みんなで記念樹を買いに近くの専門店へ。

Since it's coming from my parents we picked out a tangerine tree called Satsuma:-)

やっぱりじいじとばあばに買って貰うなら、日本の果物が良いかと思ってこのサツキみかんに決定しました！これは家を買った記念の記念樹：）

After that we headed to the Church building for the last day of VBS. This was our congregations very first attempt at VBS but a huge success! Madison had been going the last two days with Dave since he was teaching one of the classes and she had been having a great time:-) Dave asked Madison's teacher if my parents could sit in her class so they can see how much Madison enjoys her class and we got an okay so off they went...

First all the kids get to sit together and sing songs... My parents are sitting with Madison's class since she was having one of those off moments and I was busy taking pictures.

記念樹を買って家に帰った後向かったのは教会。木金土と教会では子供達用の夏の特別教室がやっていてマディソンは毎日楽しく通っていました。最後のこの日は特別にマディソンの教室にじいじとばあばを参観日させて貰う事が出来ました：）今子供達は学年事一緒に座って歌を歌っている所です。

After the class we all gathered again in the auditorium to sing a few more songs... We sang This little light of mine and all the kids got to hold glow sticks... and apparently some kids got the big responsibilities of holding flash lights... 

教室の後また最後に集まって歌を歌いました。最後は子供達みんな懐中電灯を使って、”闇の仲にある灯りになれ”みたいな歌を歌いました。

After the VBS we were going to take my parents to El Torito or something for lunch but they requested that we go back to Five Guys so we did... I guess we didn't know how much they enjoyed peeling and eating peanuts! We all try to keep up with the super speed at which Madison eats her peanuts...

その後向かったのは、ファイブガイズ！じいじとばあばの要望を聞いて来たのが２回目です：）このレストランはすっごいおいしいハンバーガーとポテトがあるんだけど、その中でもじいじとばあばがとっても気に入ったのはピーナツの食べほうだい！マディソンが食べるのとっても早いから大変：）

The next day after the morning service we took off for our Las Vegas adventure! We were originally thinking we wouldn't do Las Vegas but some good deals on hotel rooms finally convinced us to visit...:-)

その次の日は、教会の後直ぐにラスベガスに向けて出発！本当は計画してなかったんだけど、急遽せっかくだからとホテルを取って２泊３日で行く事にしました：）

During the 4 hour drive there were two of us that got a really nice nap...

マディソンとばあばのお昼寝の時間を使って、４時間のドライブの後無事到着しました。

Dave wanted to try the Flamingo since they are known for family friendly pools and less party... Although we would not recommend this hotel to anyone or come back to stay in the future (editors note: I would come back...Madison loved the waterslide and you can't beat the price for being in the middle of the strip, but I guess I would be coming back alone :-), or just with Madison :-) we had nice pool view rooms that were connected and we can't complain about the prices we got.

子供向けのプールがあると聞いたこのホテルはフラミンゴホテルと言います。この写真はプールからの景色です。私達の泊まった部屋が見えるかも。

And as you know Las Vegas is in the desert so everything was 200% hotter and wow the air was soo heavy with heat! not humid since that would have killed us so we were very thankful that it was just a dry heat. We tried to stay indoors as much we could...

知ってはいたんだけど、ラスベガスはロングビーチに比べも出来ないぐらい暑い!!　なので、出来るだけクーラーの効いた建物の中で観光見物：）

It may not look like it but it was soooo hot!!

湿気は無いんだけど、とにかく暑い!!

My parents really enjoyed the Bellagio's glass sculpture:-)

Since we knew we would spend a whole day here on Monday we decided to do the 24 hour meal plan for $45 each(Madison was FREE!!!!) where you get to eat at any of participating 6 buffet restaurants which includes the one in Flamingo and 4 that are easily walkable... This way we eliminate having to think of where to eat every time we are hungry and we can eat whatever we feel like and will be easy for my mom who doesn't eat meat. 1 place(Rio) was way too far I don't understand why they are participating but we heard they have a really good buffet... Well we were very happy with the 4 restaurants we tried so we have no regrets! For breakfast we went to Paris and this is where we started our 24 hour all you can eat Las Vegas style...:-)

次の日朝ご飯を食べに向かったのはパリ！今日は一日中ベガスで見学なので、２４時間バイキング出来るというのを一人４５ドルで買う事にしました。そのお陰でお腹が空いたらいつでも飲んだり食べたり：）どこで何を食べようかーっていちいち決めるのがたいへんだから、バイキングプランを買って本当によかった〜！結局４食とおやつを一人４５ドルで食べれるなんて安〜い！しかもマディソンはタダでした！すごい！

Dave had to go get some change for tip and once he left the line to enter was crazy long so he decided to stay outside... Good thing he was done eating.
一回出たら行列で入れなくなってしまったデイブ。食べ終わった後だから良かったんだけどね。

The night before while we were eating dinner at Caesar's Palace Dave's flip flop broke which was really funny and he ended up walking bare foot back to our hotel after searching for H&M and not being successful at it and also my sandals that Steve and Linda got for me in Spain started to fall apart from over use so I had to pick up a cheap back up flip flops. Madison picked up my bag from the cashier and carried it for me but doesn't she totally look good carrying her shopping bags!? I'm gonna have so much fun shopping with her!

その後私のサンダルが壊れかけたので安いビーチサンダルを探しに隣にあるプラネットハリウッドへ買い物に。マディソンが袋を持ってくれました。将来こんな風に買い物好きになりそうだな〜！

Jiiji and Baaba got to meet Whoopi:-) Wow she is not that tall. (Editor's Note: the real Whoopi wouldn't melt if you held a candle to her)

On Tuesday morning after we got our breakfast buffet in(our 24 hours carried us over to the following morning! Yipee! Our plan totally worked!) we left Vegas and went back home... It's been two years since I last saw my parents and a lot longer for Dave and such a quick 2 and a half weeks but we had so much fun and can't wait till we can see each other again... Hopefully longer next time Lord willing:-) 

ラスベガスを火曜日の朝後にして、４時間後に無事家に到着。少し休憩した後、最後にターゲットで買い物をして、パネラで夕食を食べてじいじとばあばは日本帰国の準備の始め：(　本当にあっという間の２週間半だったけど、２年ぶりに会えて本当に良かった〜！マディソンも前に会った時よりとっても大きくなっちゃったね：）また会えるのを楽しみにしていま〜す！
