Sunday Bob and Holly and Carter and Grant drove two and a half hours to hear me deliver the sermon during worship at our home congregation, then after services we went to introduce our guests to Jones Beach for the first time...
The waves were still very intense due to Hurricane Danny from the day before, but that didn't stop Carter from getting right out there and battling them...whenever he would lose that battle and be taken under by one he would come back to the blanket, get a drink of water and try to convince his Dad, or myself to take him back into the water.
When Carter was taking a break from fighting the waves he got his Mother and Aunt to help collect these very strange silicon looking things that Holly plans to check out under a microscope and use as a science lesson.
Grant also enjoyed getting into the water and he also enjoyed playing bury your feet with his Daddy.
Oh yeah...so you may be wondering why the title of this post...well let me tell you...Anna dropped our baby in the sand and then may or may not have run over her!!! Apparently she may still be lying in the sand if it wasn't for Carter saying, "Hey isn't that Madison in the sand." But I will back up...it all started when we forgot to buckle Madison into her Bugaboo...on the flat ground of the parking lot and walk up to the beach this is not an issue, but when Anna got that Bugaboo on the sand, put it on its front two wheels and started to roll...somehow Madison slipped out...happens to everyone right :-) I guess there are worse spots you can drop your baby, at least it was well cushioned...we still can't quite figure out how exactly she fell out and if she then got rolled over on, but we didn't see any tire marks and we really don't feel like asking her to recreate her fall anytime soon, so I guess the world will never know...amazingly Madison seemed like she couldn't care less...she cried for a second and then was seemingly fine...I was thinking to a baby it must feel like just another new experience, like when we first put her feet in the water...this experience she just hopefully won't have too often :-)
Ummm.... this is me not laughing at Anna for running over her baby. :)
ReplyDeleteOk, I really shouldn't laugh though, because I'm the mom who cried hysterically when Lily bumped her head for the first time. I'm kind of neurotic.
Yes, I really really really shouldn't laugh.
At all...
No laughing here.
None.
Wow. So I was browsing the titles of your blog entries, and thought to myself "Seatbelts save lives? Don't think I've read that one.."
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
