Everyday I am disliking this tiny living room more and more... Because now we have a Monkey in the house who likes to climb everything and wants to explore! She hardly just sits and plays with her toys anymore. One of her favorite things to do is to grab our white cord and bite it, even if I say "No!" she just looks at me and smiles, then bites some more... And sometimes she mistakes herself for one of the Beans and tries to help herself to a handful of kibbles...it is getting a bit out of control and as we are really out of space with the layout of our apartment, we are getting really anxious for our lease to be up at the end of May and for us to start looking for a new place.

I can't believe I'm talking about this again and that we are still being haunted by this license plate ghost... Holly had congratulated us for handling the situation so well but I think she spoke(commented) too soon!! I have to go back on our old post to see where I left it at but I do not have that kind of energy right now so I'm just going to summarize this on going nightmare. So I think back in November I found out one of our license plates had been stolen and had to go to a police precinct to report, blah blah then I had to go to DMV 3 times before I finally got us a new set to put on our car but the holes on the plate and our car didn't match, and we didn't have the proper tool to make new holes, blah blah... So then we were going to get Steve(Dave's Dad)'s help while we were up in CT for Christmas so we can finally put the front plate up and move on with our lives... Well, we had such a crazy schedule while we were out there that we had forgotten to take care of it... and today we got it!! A TICKET for inappropriately displaying our license plate on our dash board...
David here tagging in...so I have a few New Years Resolutions this year, one of which is to stop putting out fires and instead keep them from happening...I have a very bad habit of being reactive instead of proactive...I tend to let things slide until they blow-up in my face...so this time, even though Anna had asked nicely multiple times, I didn't act until we got a ticket...bad David!! So when I got home tonight I was struck with the magical idea to make a new hole in the license plate instead of the car as that was much more manageable...so after I did that the holes lined up but the screws wouldn't fit...so at that point our landlord happened to return home and get the message Anna had left him and he took the license plate down to his magic workshop where he happened to have "license plate" screws and he reattached our front license plate...now I am going to try to fight the ticket with my smooth typing fingers so wish me luck...I mean first they were stolen...then my wife goes through all that trouble to get them replaced...then the holes don't match up...then it is the holidays and we have a big snow storm and now it has been bitterly cold...sounds like a good defense to me...wish me luck!!! Maybe I'll tell them about my New Years Resolution too :-)
Aahh!! That age was the worst! I mean, it was super fun and all, but you spend like 100% of your time child-proofing and rechild-proofing everything! I had to start slapping Lily's hand at that age when she got into stuff she shouldn't have. And we had to reroute all of our cords because she LOVED cords. But it doesn't last forever, thankfully. Eventually they learn what is off limits, but not before you go absolutely bonkers! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much they can find to get into. Such a change from when they'd sit in one spot and entertain themselves for awhile. With the first child, you can't wait for them to walk. Seems there's some "bragging rights" associated with early walkers. By the 2nd child you're more than happy if they wait till they're ready to start school before becoming mobile.
